NBA 2K21 Has Unskippable Adverts, Despite Being Next-Gen Priced

We're all used to playing a free mobile game and getting a pop-up advert here and there aren't we? It comes with the territory and we're expecting them - however, customers who are paying next-gen prices for NBA 2K21 may be surprised to see that they'll get adverts during the game that are unskippable.
Despite paying for the game, NBA 2K21 will feed you adverts for products during loading screens. Players are showing displeasure that although they have bought the product already, they will unknowingly be sold more products while waiting for a match to load in.
Noticed by Stevivor, the video shows the player selecting quickplay before being instantly shown an advert from Facebook for the Oculus Quest 2 - its new VR headset - while the game starts loading up the match that the player selected.
It's reported that you can switch these adverts off in the settings of the game, however, people are still upset that this is both the default option for the game and that there are adverts permeating into paid games at all. It seems that Visual Concepts has been pushing for adverts in NBA games for a couple of years now, and fans are unhappier than ever because NBA 2K21 carries a high price tag as it's optimised for next-gen consoles.
To switch off the option, if you're stuck with the adverts right now, go into settings and turn off the "Watch 2KTV While Loading" feature. Stevivor says this feature isn't exclusive to one platform and it is reportedly seen on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 so the problem will follow you wherever you go.
This is also a new addition. NBA 2K21 came out at the beginning of September without this feature in place. It is only a recent change, perhaps so that the first players and reviews didn't note this feature.
