The Battle of Sodden has really taken its toll on Yennefer of Vengerberg

We don't know about you, but we can't get enough of Netflix's The Witcher series. The TV adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's books with some influence from CD Projekt Red's games has been a hit so far and we're so looking forward to seeing the cast reprise their roles in the show for Season 2.

Of course, we have Henry Cavill taking up the position of the stoic Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as the naive Ciri, and Anya Chalotra as the elegant Yennefer of Vengerberg - and we've just got our first look at Yenn in Season 2.

The two images shared by The Witcher Netflix account on Twitter shows the sorceress looking a little worse for wear after the ending of Season 1. A closer look at what she's wearing reveals that it's the same rope dress from the Battle of Sodden, that fight in the last episode of the first season.

After a hard fight, a fight where many lives were lost, it looks as though Yennefer has been captured. By Nilfgaard? Perhaps, but the photos don't confirm that detail, just that Yennefer is in a spot of trouble.

The post comes with a quote: "She used her full might, and the battlefield burned. Then she vanished from sight, But Yen will return." So if you weren't sure if Anya was going to be reprising her role, then this post is more than confirmation enough.

We've also had an exciting look at Geralt's new armour for Season 2 as well as a look at how Ciri begins her training. She'll have to learn to weird a sword if she's ever going to deal with the Wild Hunt down the line. But we're getting ahead of ourselves, that'll be at least Season 17 before we get there - The Witcher Season 2 is likely to land on Netflix Q1 of 2021.
