First Look At Zack Snyder's 'Army Of The Dead' Follow-Up Shown By Netflix

Zack Snyder's big new shiny project, Army of the Dead did rather well for itself. Both a casino heist film and a zombie apocalypse extravaganza, the movie intrigued viewers because it hinted at a wider universe to explore. From fan theories to the ending (which definitely sets itself up to have a sequel film), it's no wonder that Netflix already had another project in the works when Army of the Dead was released - and it's a prequel.

The first follow-up to the zombie action film is Army of Thieves. This story will be another action-packed adventure but it will take place before the events of Army of the Dead. It's not clear if that means we'll be seeing zombies, as in Army of the Dead they're contained in Las Vegas, but the initial images Netflix has revealed show it will at least be heist related.

Without going too far into the story of Army of the Dead, one team member who can "open what cannot be opened" is Ludwig Dieter. The loveable but nervous character isn't your typical action hero but comes along to open the vault. Of course, Dieter has experience working on heists before, otherwise, he wouldn't have been hired for the Las Vegas job - so Netflix is allowing us to have a look at Dieter's life before the events of Army of the Dead and we can't wait.

Netflix has released a few images to give us a first look at the team we will be hanging out with for the duration of the movie. Matthias Schweighöfer will of course take up the role of Dieter while Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones, F9) will play Gwendoline. Guz Khan, Ruby O. Fee, and Stuart Martin will all be joining the cast too.

There isn't yet a date set for the release of Army of Thieves but according to the Netflix tweet, it is coming soon. Dieter we can't wait to see you again.
