Netflix's ‘The Witcher’ Shares Photos Of Jaskier In Season 2

Netflix's The Witcher has shared new photos of Geralt's bard bestie, Jaskier, and he looks morose, to be honest.

Perhaps, he's in the throes of a creative block, and he hangs out around this rather rundown hut surrounded by the shrubbery to let his muse draw from the beauty and wildness of nature. Then again, Jaskier (or Dandelion, however you'd like to refer to him) is absolutely a town mouse, enjoying the comforts of the cities of the Continent, and his muse is oftentimes the wife of a nobleman or knight. It's a little out of character, but such is the Law of Surprise, which is part of the seasonal celebrations that The Witcher account on Twitter is holding.

The Six Days of Witchmas is a "holiday feast where nobody has to mingle, and everybody receives a gift." Using polls, fans vote on whether they will accept the content that the account offers for that day, or whether they'd like to try their luck with the Law of Surprise. The Law of Surprise is central to the story of the show, and it explains how Ciri becomes the ward of Geralt of Rivia. With this law, someone who is saved from death is expected to give their savior a gift or favour, but one that is not known to either of them. Thankfully, dire deeds are not necessary for Witchmas, and the Law of Surprise content is revealed if it is the prevailing outcome in the poll.

We've already gotten photos of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer in season two of the popular fantasy show, and it's clear that their role in this world may be bigger than they had imagined. Ciri has been training, honing her skills as a warrior and a survivor, along with her nascent magical abilities. After her explosive attacks at the battle of Sodden Hill, Yennefer disappeared, and wherever she ended up, it's not safe there as her wrists are now clasped in chains. And, Geralt's got brand-new armour that leaves little to the imagination.

Though it's been started and stopped twice over the course of 2020, filming on the second season has been smooth sailing. Presently, Henry Cavill is out of action due to a muscle injury while performing his own stunts, but production has continued on the scenes where he doesn't feature. We also know that there will be two new monsters to battle, and one may even be inspired by the games developed by CD Projekt Red.
