You would have to be living under a rock to not notice Among Us right now. The game has become a massive success in 2020 despite the original release of the title back in 2018. Streamers, content creators, and regular fans all adore the hidden identity game and with its popularity has come some new features and changes.

Although these aren't official patch notes from the development team, Attack of the Fanboy has collated a list of the new features you should know about for your next game of Among Us. First, let's talk about anonymous voting.

One of the things that is frequently suspicious about other players is if they vote for you. You're innocent, you know that, but Pink suddenly votes that's you're the imposter and it leaves you with a feeling they're just trying to eject you out the airlock - no more! Turning on anonymous voting means you just know someone voted for you along the way but who? You can't tell.

A sure way to tell if someone is an imposter is keeping an eye on the taskbar. When someone finishes a task the bar will often go up, proving that they weren't faking. During late game this can be a problem for the imposter. The last four survivors pressuring each other into doing tasks infront of the team so they can see who's faking sort of ruins the fun. In future, there will be the option to turn the taskbar off completely or just update every time there is an emergency meeting so its movements are less telling.

Finally, there is better support for those who are colourblind. One of the most common tasks in Among Us is Wires, wherein you open a panel and connect four colours their corresponding places - which relies on you being able to see the different shades in the first place. Now wires will have both a colour to tell where the connections should be made and symbols on the wires which correspond too which helps anyone who can't tell the difference between them.

Eventually, there will be a massive update to Among Us, which was originally going to be Among Us 2. The team at InnerSloth decided to change tactics when the original's success boomed and so we'll be looking out for more big updates to the party game as they go.
