Robert Pattinson's shiny new Batman suit has finally been unveiled, and it looks an awful lot like it's taken inspiration from Rocksteady's Arkham games. Director Matt Reeves gave us our first look at Battinson kitted out in the new suit on Twitter, sharing some juicy new test footage with fans.

As you can see for yourself below, the suit has more of an armoured feel, not unlike the high-tech versions of the iconic costume that we saw in Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight. Personally, I'm a huge fan of it. I've often considered Rocksteady's version of Batman to be one of the very best adaptations of the character, so if Matt Reeves wants to borrow from that particular corner of Bat-Lore... that's fine with me.

Judging from the reaction to the test footage on Twitter, the majority of fans seem to share my positive take. There are a few disgruntled folk who feel like Ben Affleck's chunkier, more comic-accurate version of the suit remains superior, but each to their own. As I think Batman V Superman and Justice League proved, a good suit does not equate to a good film.

Take a look at what just a few of the Bat-fans out there had to say about Pattinson's new threads below.

Robert Pattinson will make his debut as the caped crusader when The Batman hits cinemas next summer. He'll be joined by Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.

Details on the plot are scarce right now, but we've heard that the film won't be another origin story for the character. Fantastic news, considering I think even the most casual audience member has seen Thomas and Martha Wayne murdered in that alley several times at this point.

Both Pattinson and Reeves have promised that this new iteration of the character will be more grounded and brutal. Most importantly, though, it'll really shine a light on Batman's skills as a detective. This is something none of the previous movies have ever really done, but something the Rocksteady games handled beautifully.

I'm not saying Reeves should just adapt the Arkham games but... yeah, I definitely wouldn't be against that at all.
