New 'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Season 5 Trailer Teases Exploding Nuke

Finally!

A second teaser for Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 5 has dropped, and it looks like a nuclear bomb is finally hitting Verdansk. There have been rumours of a massive map overhaul coming to the free-to-play battle royale for months now, but this is the first official suggestion that something major is coming.

Developer Infinity Ward shared a first look at this new teaser with Twitch streamer TylerTeeP, who then watched it with his followers. As you can see below, the brief tease shows a security camera recording the inside of what looks to be Verdansk Stadium. We then hear a distant rumble and see a bright flash of light, before the screen abruptly cuts to black.

The implication is clear, of course. The bright light that fills the room and cuts the signal of the security camera has to be a nuclear detonation, doesn't it? I mean, that would have been my first thought if this was the only piece of evidence pointing towards a nuke in Verdansk... but when you consider the fact that the game has had bunkers with actual nuclear weapons in them for the last few months? It can't be anything else.

Others have pointed out that the flash and bang seen in the teaser could have been an EMP, but that seems to me to be a way less dramatic thing to tease for the start of Season 5. So I feel like we can probably rule that out.

This is actually the second teaser for the new season that we've seen this week. The first was sent to Twitch streamer NICKMERCS, and quite clearly confirms the long-standing rumours that loot trains will be added to the Verdansk map soon.

Other Season 5 rumours suggest that Verdansk Stadium will be opening up its interior, which is why I'm pretty certain the room in the latest teaser is from the Stadium. It certainly doesn't look like any other room I've seen in Verdansk, and the posters and interior design match the outside of the long-dormant building.

Season 5 of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare kicks off in early August, so hopefully we don't have long to wait to find out what's going on. If nukes really are dropping, there could be much bigger changes coming than just loot trains and stadiums.
