Upcoming Zombie Horror Is Freaking Players Out With Next-Gen Dismemberment And Gore

I feel ILL.

I have to admit to you, dear reader, that I'm not a huge fan of gore. I balk at slasher horror movies and could never in a million years sit through something like Saw. It's just too much. I've always done okay with gory video games, but I think that's because it's a lot easier for my mind to recognise that what's happening in front of me isn't real, you know? Even more realistic gore-heavy games like The Last Of Us Part II and Resident Evil 2 I can deal with.

Unfortunately, these games keep getting more and more realistic... and if they keep it up, I'm going to have to check out once and for all. At least, I feel I already know with a high degree of certainty that Project ILL is the first gory video game I flat-out won't be able to play. The new next-gen horror from Clout Games is promising some truly impressive dismemberment and gore effects. While this is of course brilliant for the horror fans out there, it looks like it could just be a bit more much for the more squeamish among us - myself included.

Check the game out in action below. Just remember that it's not for the faint of heat.

Project ILL is currently in the early stages of development, which means there's no ETA on release or platforms right now. There's still some harrowing gameplay videos online, as above, and Clout Games is aiming to release a demo for the project's Patreon backers soon.

Whenever the game finally does launch, Clout Game wants to include a wealth of immersive features to make Project ILL the most disgusting video game ever released. There's talk of high-end visuals, advanced physics, interactive environments, ragdoll effects, and of course buckets and buckets of gory red viscera all over the shop.

I, uh... I think I need to go and play Hello Kitty Island Adventure to cool down.
