The release of a new MMORPG cannot be easy. Of course, there is the main development of the game, making it look, feel, and play well but there is so much more to making sure a new title is balanced. There are so many things that a developer needs to think of prior to players finding a way to exploit the game's systems and unfortunately, Amazon Games didn't anticipate New World's players brutally scamming one another.

According to PC Gamer, New World fans have seen players scamming each other out of huge sums of money. Within the game, guild leaders and possibly other important members of factions have been tricking their peers into donating gold to support the faction's growth before taking off with the money.

Here is the trailer for New World...

On Reddit, one user Paradoggs has detailed that the Syndicate faction on the Heracleion server has been scammed by a guild leader. After the faction lost a war badly, the leader went on to blame everyone else in the faction other than themselves. They also requested members of the faction donate money to try and support its future. Two hundred people donated money totaling a mighty 60,000 gold, before the guild leader emptied that cash and transferred factions, stealing the money.

Paradoggs says: "90 people from the guild are left alone, broke and betrayed. The faction (the smallest on this server) is in disarray and full of betrayal. No one trusts anyone and no one knows anything to do about it other than get invaded and die whimpering."

According to PC Gamer, there also seem to be other cases of this act happening, where guild leaders with access to money are too tempted by it and steal it instead. It doesn't seem like there is an inbuilt way to punish players for these actions but Amazon may need to find a way to make sure this doesn't become a regular occurrence.
