Popular pro gamer Ninja, also known as Richard Tyler Blevins, has vowed to leave Fortnite behind if the issues with stream snipers aren't resolved.
In one way, you could say that Fortnite is Ninja and Ninja is Fortnite. In 2017, he made the hop over to the battle royale from PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and his Twitch channel quickly rose to the top of the pile: in less than a year, his follower count had quadrupled to two million. Then, in 2018, Drake, Travis Scott and Pittsburgh Steelers player JuJu Smith-Schuster joined him for a game, and set the record for the largest concurrent audience on an individual's stream on Twitch. The rest is history, I suppose, and he's got an exclusive multiyear agreement with Twitch to stream games after his deal with Mixer fell apart.
Recently, he's been playing a lot of Halo on Twitch, as he used to be a professional Halo 3 player for teams like Cloud9, Renegades, Team Liquid, and Luminosity Gaming. He decided to take a break and play Fortnite, but he didn't expect that he wouldn't receive a warm welcome back to the battle royale. A player antagonised Ninja with stream sniping four times in a row, and surprise, he was deeply unhappy.

To the uninitiated, stream sniping is when one player is watching another player's stream in order to gain an advantage over them. Even though the livestream is on a slight delay, it's enough for this player to work out where their target is in the game and harass them repeatedly. It's essentially cheating, in a roundabout manner, and Ninja called them out for it and then some. "This game is so fucking stupid, bro," began the streamer.
"The community, these little kids, it's just so dumb. It really is. It's not fun. It's just not. And the thing is, these f*cking clout-chasing losers, they have no idea. All they're doing is just harming the game because I'm not gonna f*cking play it. I'm not gonna stream it." Ninja added that his defeats weren't due to the fact that he might be out of practice with Fortnite.
"But good for you, man, get your f*cking clip... send it to your buddies. You killed Ninja. I haven't played the game in forever. I don't play it anymore. I come back, and I still almost kill all of you idiots. You guys grind this game 12 hours a day... and I still almost down you with zero practice competitively," he continued. Ninja is well within his rights to drop a game that he's not enjoying, but you have to wonder whether his fame will follow him to every online game he tries, and he'll always encounter players trying to capitalise on his popularity.
