There seems to be something The Pokémon Company hasn't told us yet. Pokémon has a lot going for it right now. It's seen continued success with Pokémon Go, the brand new and extremely popular MOMA Pokémon Unite and that's without mentioning there are two unreleased games we're still waiting for - theDiamond and Pearl remake and open-world adventure Pokémon Legends: Arceus. There is so much going on right now and yet leaks suggest there is yet another game in the works that we've not heard anything about.
I'll let you in on a secret - these days LinkedIn is an incredibly useful resource to discover what developers may be working on. More often than not, devs get caught up in the excitement of what they're doing or want to update peers on jobs that they'll give away little hints on what they're working on next. And in this case, it's an unreleased and yet to be revealed Pokémon game.
As reported by Centro Leaks and Nintendo Smash, an employee of The Pokémon Company has put in their LinkedIn biography that they are working on an unannounced Pokémon game. We have very little details on the title but Centro Leaks on Twitter has stoked the fire by saying that although we're excited about the titles we know are coming, that 2022 is going to be even more spectacular.
2022 will be very exciting too for Pokemon fans.- Centro LEAKS (@CentroLeaks) October 1, 2021
Even more than 2021 if nothing gets delayed.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a new generation game. It wasn't all that long ago that we got Pokémon Sword and Shield but with how long games take to develop I'm sure that the next generation has to already be in the works, right? Additionally, Nintendo doesn't like announcing things too far in advance so unannounced projects could be far closer to release than we may realise. 2022 is only a few months away after all. It's a shame we don't have much to go on right now but Nintendo will update us when the time is right.
