'Ocarina Of Time' Gets Gorgeous Remake For Zelda's 35th Anniversary

2021 marks the 35th anniversary of The Legend Of Zelda series, though you wouldn't know it to look at Nintendo. Aside from a Switch port of The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword and a few other bits and bobs here and there, it looks like Link and friends are having a pretty quiet Birthday party this year.

But while Nintendo might be happy to let this milestone pass without much incident, the fans aren't. That's why animator RwanLink has put together a mouth-wateringly beautiful trailer for the one project we all desperately want to see: a modern-day remake of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

Before we get to that, take a look at some of our favourite Zelda moments below!

As spotted by DSOGaming, RwanLink's gorgeous trailer was developed using the Unreal Engine, and provides a tantalising teaser for the kind of Ocarina Of Time remake we've dreamed of for years. I should note that there are a number of seriously impressive Ocarina Of Time Unreal Engine remakes out there, but this one really stands apart on a cinematic level.

RwanLink explained that they spent over 300 hours creating the video, with the help of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 with 12GB of RAM. The end result, as you can see below, is genuinely stunning.

What I will say is that Ocarina Of Time is undeniably a masterpiece whether you're playing on Nintendo 64 or the upgraded 3DS remake, and as such it definitely doesn't need a visual overhaul as substantial as this.

But with that said, I don't need to eat half a tub of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream after polishing off a large Domino's either. That doesn't stop it being one hell of a good time. Let's just remake every Zelda game for Switch and be done with it, okay? Okay.
