Norman Reedus 'In Talks' With Hideo Kojima For Mystery Project

Norman Reedus 'In Talks' With Hideo Kojima For Mystery Project

Could it be?

Actor Norman Reedus recently revealed that he's "in talks" to work on another project with the Metal Gear and Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima. The two have become firm friends through their various collaborations over the years, so it's perhaps unsurprising to learn that creative relationship will continue.

What we don't know is what any future work between the two will result in, which is terribly exciting. Reedus first worked with Kojima on P.T and then again for last year's Death Stranding, so there's certainly potential for the actor to return to one his Kojima-created characters. Of course, it could also be an entirely new role - you never really know what Kojima is going to come up with next.

Speaking to Wired, Reedus suggested that he and Kojima were talking about "maybe doing some Death Stranding stuff," implying that we could be seeing some kind of DLC, or maybe even a sequel. Late last year, Kojima touched on the possibility of a Death Stranding 2, but said that he would "would start from zero" on any potential sequel.

In typical Kojima fashion, it's not entirely clear what he meant by that... but it's assumed that Kojima would rather expand the world of Death Stranding in new ways, rather than continue the story of the first game. Exactly how Norman Reedus' character Sam Bridges would fit into such a project remains to be seen, but I could totally see Kojima casting him as a completely new character in the same world, just to mess with everyone.

Then again, could Hideo Kojima really be working on a new Silent Hill game, so many years after the events of P.T and his infamous falling-out with Konami? It's incredibly unlikely, but there have been signs of late that the horror franchise is making a comeback. Earlier this month, fans were convinced that Kojima was sneakily teasing a Silent Hill-themed announcement on Twitter.

We also know that Kojima wants his next project to be "the scariest horror game". Last year, the developer said he was preparing for work by watching a string of classic horror movies, which lends further credence to a Silent Hill return. The only real fly in this particular ointment is that Konami owns the rights to the Silent Hill franchise... but even Konami has been making noise about the survival horror series returning of late.

Back in February, Konami confirmed that it's currently looking into the best way of delivering a new entry in the Silent Hill franchise. This came just weeks after multiple sources suggested the company had a couple of new Silent Hill games in development. Last we heard, Kojima and Konami weren't exactly on the best of terms... but could the two have come to some sort of arrangement that allows Kojima to finally revive Silent Hills with the help of Norman Reedus? Man, I hope so.
