'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Photos Show First Look At Ewan McGregor Back In Action

You are the Obi-Wan for me.

The first photos Ewan McGregor back in business as Obi-Wan for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series have surfaced, and we're more than a little excited.

We haven't seen McGregor in the role since 2005's Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, so to once again clock the esteemed actor draped in his Jedi finery is a surprise to be sure - and a welcome one at that.

Since you're here and you (probably) like Star Wars, why not take a look at these incredible Microsoft Flight Simulator mods below?

Before you all get too excited, I should stress that these are set photos and that McGregor is mostly covered up. Even so, the really, really hardcore Star Wars fans out there will no doubt have an opinion on things like his hair and beard, because that's what hardcore Star Wars fans do. You can even see just a cheeky little glimpse of dusty boots and some slinky trousers, perfect for the fashion conscious Jedi forced to hide out on a desert planet and watch over his old mate's son.

The full extent of his beard is also quite clearly obscured by a COVID-mandated facemask, but let us assume that it is a fine thing indeed.

McGregor will be joined by a stunning cast when Obi-Wan Kenobi hits Disney Plus next year. Hayden Christensen is set to return as Obi-Wan's former friend and student Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. We've also heard heard that Game Of Thrones actor Indira Varma has joined the series in an unknown role, one many fans have speculated involves her becoming a Sith inquisitor tasked with tracking down Obi-Wan.

The rest of the cast includes Moses Ingram (The Queen's Gambit), Joel Edgerton (The Gift), Bonnie Piesse (Love Eterne), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Rupert Friend (Hitman: Agent 47), O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Godzilla: King Of The Monsters), Sung Kang (The Fast & The Furious), Simone Kessell (The Reckoning) and Benny Safdie (Good Time).

There's no release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi, as filming is quite obviously still underway. We'll let you know as soon as we know more, and definitely check back here to see if/when McGregor gets that luscious Jedi beard out for all to see.
