'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Star Hints That Inquisitors Will Appear In The Series

Yesterday Disney announced the full cast for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi, and it looks like some seriously heavy hitters will be joining Ewan McGregor's iconic Jedi on the adventure.

In addition to McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker respectively, there's a raft of faces new and old. The incredible cast will include the talents of Moses Ingram (The Queen's Gambit), Joel Edgerton (The Gift), Bonnie Piesse (Love Eterne), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Rupert Friend (Hitman: Agent 47), O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Godzilla: King Of The Monsters), Sung Kang (The Fast & The Furious), Simone Kessell (The Reckoning) and Benny Safdie (Good Time). I mean, wow.

What's exciting is that we have no idea who most of these actors will be playing. We can assume that Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse will be reprising their roles as Luke's adoptive parents uncle Owen and aunt Beru, having played the characters Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Beyond that? We've no idea, but there are some clues we can follow.

Over on Instagram, Moses Ingram shared a post after the casting announcement with the caption "I play with lightsabers". While this could be a broad reference to her inclusion in the Star Wars universe rather than a specific hint to the nature of her character, fans believe it's another shred of evidence that points to the inclusion of Sith Inquisitors in the upcoming series.

Sith Inquisitors are essentially an elite group of Force users that work under Darth Vader and the Empire. They're relentless and utterly terrifying. Previous reports have suggested that part of Obi-Wan Kenobi may involve the titular Jedi haven to flee Tatooine in order to lure the Empire and the Inquisitors hunting him away from the scent of a young Luke Skywalker.

It's believed that Game Of Thrones star Indira Varma has joined the cast as an Inquisitor, so it's not unlikely that Ingram's character could also be part of the Sith ranks. This is pure speculation at this stage, of course. If Ingram's character does indeed "play with lightsabers, she's just as likely to be one of the surviving Jedi desperately attempting to evade the Empire and stay alive, much like Obi-Wan himself.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to arrive on Disney+ in early 2022, so we'll just have to wait and see.
