'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Set Video Appears Online, First Look At Upcoming Star Wars Series

Oh Disney is definitely coming for this guy.

It looks like production on Obi-Wan Kenobi finally kicking into gear. The long-awaited Disney+ series confirmed last week that Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, and an incredible cast of talented actors will soon start filming. And now, it appears we've gotten a first look at one of the upcoming sci-fi show's many sets.

A video which first started doing the rounds on TikTok before spreading to Reddit and Twitter appears to show a large outdoor set that looks a heck of a lot like Tatooine. The desert planet is where we'll most likely pick up with McGregor's Jedi as he remains in hiding/exile while looking out for a young Luke Skywalker. It's certainly my hope that Obi-Wan Kenobi will explain after all these years why hiding one of Anakin's sons on the planet he grew up on was actually a really good plan and not a super dumb idea.

Anyway, take a look for yourself below. It seems pretty clear from the video that the set isn't actually finished yet, which itself would imply that filming has yet to commence. One thing is for sure, I wouldn't be the person who uploaded this footage when Disney tracks them down.

The cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi includes Moses Ingram (The Queen's Gambit), Joel Edgerton (The Gift), Bonnie Piesse (Love Eterne), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Rupert Friend (Hitman: Agent 47), O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Godzilla: King Of The Monsters), Sung Kang (The Fast & The Furious), Simone Kessell (The Reckoning) and Benny Safdie (Good Time).

Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse have actually appeared in Star Wars before as Luke's adoptive parents uncle Owen and aunt Beru in Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. No doubt we'll be seeing them a few times on Tatooine. I suspect we'll also discover Obi-Wan had a little more contact with young Luke than we first thought.
