One Of 'The Suicide Squad' Members Presumed Dead Is Actually Alive

And no, it isn't Weasel.

If you've seen the recently rebooted (and gloriously gory) The Suicide Squad, you'll know that things don't exactly go well for some members of the legendary outfit.

Now, director James Gunn has said that not all of those anti-heroes presumed dead are actually... dead. Obviously, if you haven't seen the film please don't read any further because we will be getting into spoiler territory. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE. Turn back now or forever hold your complaints. We good? Okay cool.

We chatted to Idris Elba and Daniela Melchior about their roles in the movie, as well as who would win in a fight between Batman and Luther.

The opening beats of the film follow the disastrous exploits of a star-studded Task Force X of The Suicide Squad who have been sold out to the Corto Moltease army by Pete Davidson's Blackguard. Unfortunately for Blackguard, he was double-crossed in the deal and promptly has his face blown off, less than 10 minutes into the movie. Sucks.

The next few minutes are a symphony of destruction as Savant, Javelin, Captain Boomerang and others get unceremoniously murdered. Anybody who stayed until the end of the film will know that Sean Gunn's Weasel did actually survive the onslaught after drowning right at the very start. Turns out Weasel's can't swim, but can cough up lots of water - who knew?

James Gunn took to twitter to officially remind fans that Nathan Fillion's character T.D.K. isn't actually dead either. Despite having the most useless power of all (the ability to detach his arms from his body and... slap guards) T.D.K.'s vitals are listed as critical in the film if you're eagle-eyed enough to catch it.

We already know that Gunn will be directing a Peacemaker series coming to HBO, and has alluded to the fact that some as-yet unnamed members of The Suicide Squad may be making cameo appearences, so the betting man might want to have a punt on Fillion's T.D.K. turning up at some point. The series is set to debut in January 2022.
