‘Outriders’ Is Going To Be On Xbox Game Pass From Day One

If you're looking for a new cover-shooter to play, it looks more and more like Outriders is going to be your best bet for a new and exciting gaming experience. The new title from Bulletstorm and People Can Fly has so far seen a lot of success in the beta the devs launched, and now we know the game will be accessible to everyone with a Game Pass subscription on day one of the game's release for free on console and Android.

Microsoft has been killing it a little with all the games coming to its subscription service. We've just had an influx of Bethesda titles arrive on Game Pass to celebrate the ZeniMax acquisition being finalised. We've got Skyrim, Oblivion, Prey, and more all accessible through Game Pass, and if you've played all of those already, well, you only have to wait until April 1, 2021 for Outriders to be available too.

If you've not heard of Outriders at all yet, well, I can enlighten you a little. It's a new third-person sci-fi shooter. Xbox calls it a "true genre-hybrid" where it combines "brutal combat with deep RPG systems".

"Outriders is set in the distant future where players attempt to colonize a planet that they believe to be a new home for humanity. Turns out, the planet doesn't want them there. Oops. A mysterious storm called the Anomaly burnt out all the tech that's more advanced than a lightbulb, hyper-evolved the wildlife into ferocious monsters, and colonization efforts broke down into a bitter war of attrition for the last remaining resources available to humanity." Intriguing, is it not?

A couple million people have already downloaded the demo of Outriders which seems to be going down a treat. It's brutal, fast-paced, and has really fun gun combat with some super powers sprinkled in. We'll be looking out for how the entire game is received at the beginning of April, and trying it out isn't going to cost us a penny now. Neat.
