It's fair to say that the latest free game from Epic hasn't exactly set the world on fire. As part of the store's ongoing summer sale, the publisher has been giving away a free "mystery game" each week, complete with a cheeky little countdown that leads into the grand reveal.

It's a great little initiative, but fans around the world were more than a little miffed to discover that this week's free game is InnerSloth's multiplayer masterpiece Among Us. Despite the fact that the sci-fi murder mystery sim was one of 2020's most popular games, it seems a number of people feel a little shortchanged for having gotten themselves excited about a reveal that turned out to be a game that's already free on mobile devices... and isn't actually that expensive to begin with.

Take a look at this terrifying Among Us fan film below!

I'm personally of the opinion that complaining about a free video game is a bit of a dick move. If you're not paying any kind of subscription, can you really complain? Epic is offering a freebie, and while it's not the most glamorous or exciting, it's still a free game! Sadly, that's just not good enough for some.

The good news for anyone annoyed by this latest freebie from Epic? You don't actually have to download it! Wild, I know. The next free game will be confirmed next week - let's just hope people have now learned to keep their expectations in check, eh?
