The best game of 2019 is free to download and keep right now, and I urge you not to sleep on it. Remedy's wonderfully inventive and deliciously creepy supernatural adventure Control is completely free on the Epic Games Store from now until June 17. If you haven't played it, I beg you not to let this pass you by.

All you need to do is register and Epic Games account if you don't already have one, log in to the store, and claim your copy. I cannot stress enough how truly excellent this game is. It didn't get nearly enough attention when it launched, and this is your chance to check it out at no cost whatsoever. The only thing you stand to lose is a bit of your time if you don't like it, but I'm quite certain you will love it.

Take a look at the trailer below to see if it stirs anything deep within. It definitely should.

You probably won't be all that surprised to learn after all the adoration I just spewed that Control was GAMINGbible's Game Of The Year in 2019 by some distance.

The game follows the adventures of Jesse, a young woman with supernatural abilities on a desperate mission to find her brother in the bowels of an ancient organisation tasked with housing and cataloguing interdimensional threats. It is weird, challenging, surprising, and often deeply, deeply disturbing.

Gameplay combines exploration and excellent combat that threads together various guns and psychic abilities. Jesse often has to fight off massive hordes of enemies using the environment to hurl objects with kinetic energy, take cover, and blast away with a number of different weapons that can be upgraded based on your playstyle. There's pretty much always some new upgrade or trick to play around with, so no two fights feel quite the same.

Oh, and if you get really stuck, you can just turn on God Mode and run around like a motherf*cking superhero. That's a perfectly valid way to play, too.
