'Minecraft' Player Spends 45 Hours Building An RTX 3070 PC In-Game

If you're into PC gaming then you have to know how hard it is to get your hands on an RTX 30 series right now. Forget how hard it is to find a new PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, the RTX 30 series graphics cards are sold out everywhere. They're more myth than a product at this point. Which is why it's sort of not surprising that someone has fashioned themselves a GPU out of Minecraft blocks.

First spotted by PC Gamer, one creative soul on Reddit, AlanGeisse, has shown off their building skills by creating a full PC within Minecraft and it's pretty impressive. The PC has got anything a normal PC might have but with two differences, one it's huge, and two it's in a video game.

The creator has previously created a PC in Minecraft which we would have been impressed with all the same but putting the two builds side by side, you can see Alan's latest attempt in creating lookalike is top-notch.

When speaking to PC Gamer, the creator says that due to the height limits of Minecraft, they had to set the scale to about 2mm per block, which when you think about the size of a Minecraft character is massive. This project wasn't just made on a whim, there are hours of planning and the usage of other programs to make it possible.

Alan tells PC Gamer "I worked with images of the components in Inkscape to be able to take measurements more easily. I used images of the front of the motherboard, ATX schematics to quickly locate screws, and generic ATX AM4 motherboard electronics schematics to measure socket and chipset position." The dedication to make this project as close to 100% accurate as possible is incredible.

So, some of you may be wondering, why not use the top-end graphics card in the 30 series? Why use the 70 rather than 80 or 90? Well, it's because Alan's case of choice wouldn't be able to fit that in the build. Well, the 3070 will just have to do, after all, we're not complaining because this project is stunning as it is.
