'Resident Evil Village' Mod Turns Lady Dimitrescu Into Thomas The Tank Engine

'Resident Evil Village' Mod Turns Lady Dimitrescu Into Thomas The Tank Engine

I'm not exactly sure what it is about the Resident Evil games but modders flock to them. Maybe it's the juxtaposition between the tense gameplay and the funny image of Barney the Dinosaur running towards you. Not even Capcom can make the adorable purple T-Rex too intimidating. Or maybe the Resident Evil games are just easier to mess with. Whatever the reasoning, no character model in Resident Evil Village is above modder's limits, including the beautiful, yet terrifying, Lady Dimitrescu.

Someone, I don't know if I should call them a genius or a menace, has swapped out Lady D for Thomas the Tank Engine. Spotted by Eurogamer, this mod changes the appearance of the goliath vampiric woman into the children's toy. Somehow it's actually scarier than the original model as these bulging, grotesque eyes peer out at you and, yeah - it's frankly a bit gross.

Though you might be shocked that there are already mods for the game, this isn't even the first RE: Village mod we've reported on. That win goes to the Barney the dinosaur mod which you can see here:

The creator of this mod seems to be someone called Crazy Potato and the only description of the mod says, "Replaces Alcina Dimitrescu with Thomas the Tank Engine". Short and sweet - just how I like it. Well except when I like Dimitrescu, in which case it's tall and scary.

Oh, and how could I forget perhaps the best part of Crazy Potato's vision - the music. The video showing the mod has replaced the music you might hear with Lady Dimitrescu with a slowed, warped version of the Thomas The Tank Engine theme. It's frankly hilarious and only adds to the fever dream experience that's going on.

If you're interested in trying the mod out for yourself, here is the NexusMods page for you to explore. Enjoy! Resident Evil: Village is out May 7 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC and you can read our review of the game here.
