The internet is a funny old place. On the one hand, you've got a vast repository of shared human knowledge at your fingertips ready to make use of whenever you wish. On the other, you have dodgy forums where someone called FreeTruther69 suggests you try drinking bleach to soothe a sore throat.

Point being that you never know quite what you're going to get when you approach the internet with a problem or question. But in the case of Reddit user Monosergg and their quest to find the perfect name for their new "gamer kitty", the unpredictable chaos that followed was both hilarious and wholesome.

As you can see below, untitled gamer kitty is an incredibly small little bean at the moment, and they need the perfect name to reflect their owner's love of video games. Naturally, Reddit was quick to swoop in with suggestions that ranged from the ridiculous to the genuinely sweet.

My personal favourite is probably "Epson Ecotank ET-4700 All-In-One Printer and Scanner," a name that just rolls off the tongue. Other highlights include "Task Manager", "Qwerty," "CTRL-ALT-Delete", and "Roach". If it were up to me, I don't think you can ever go wrong with Pokémon as a starting point. Our cat is called Eevee, and we have dreams of one day getting an Umbreon to keep her company.

Monosergg doesn't appear to have picked a winning name at the time of writing, but last I checked they were quite taken by one user's suggestion: "Pixel". "Omfg that's actually a really cute name," they responded, prompting a wave of users to vote for Pixel themselves. It is, undeniably, a disgustingly cute name worthy of a beautiful little gamer cat.

Then again, I'm not sure we should take Epson Ecotank ET-4700 All-In-One Printer and Scanner off the table forever, should we?
