Massive New 'Plague Inc' Mode Lets You Save The World, And You Can Play Early

It's been a while since we've heard anything from Ndemic Creations, the developer behind Plague Inc. Back in March the studio announced that it was putting together a brand new mode in which your mission is to save the world from a deadly disease outbreak. That, of course, flips the game's original premise of destroying the world with a virus on its head - but it's 2020, and playing a game about controlling the spread of a killer virus seems a little... icky?

The past few months have been rough for all of us, but Ndemic has continued to work away on its new mode in an effort to imbue us with some semblance of control. We're happy to report that Plague Inc: The Cure is now very nearly ready, and you can get your hands on it early.

Ndemic is currently looking for beta testers to try out the new mode. To sign up and register your interest, head here and fill out a short Google survey. It's available for both iOS and Android users, although the beta will obviously only allow for a limited number of participants.

Ndemic, the developer of Plague Inc, is looking for beta testers for The Cure update - a new game mode that sees you trying to slow the spread of disease as opposed to wiping out the entire population of Earth. To sign up, just fill out the short Google survey. It's available to both iOS and Android users, although only a limited number of people will make the cut.

Plague Inc: The Cure is the mobile game's largest update yet, and will be made available to players entirely free in the near future. We don't have an exact date for its release just yet, but Ndemic recently teased that we can expect it very soon.

"When arranging our donations with the WHO and CEPI, we were repeatedly asked if we could make a game which let the player work to stop an outbreak," Ndemic said of The Cure back in March. "Therefore, as well as providing financial support, we are accelerating work on a new Plague Inc. game mode which lets players save the world from a deadly disease outbreak."

"Players will have to balance managing disease progression and boosting healthcare systems as well as controlling real-world actions such as triaging, quarantining, social distancing and closing of public services. We are developing this game mode with the help of experts from the WHO, the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network and more."
