'PS5 Simulator' Is Here To Ease The Pain Of Not Having A Next-Gen Console

The PlayStation 5 might well be available in many parts of the world right now, but not everybody has been lucky enough to secure one. Maybe you failed to nab a pre-order during a messy launch period? Perhaps you just can't afford one right? Or maybe you're like me and are desperately waiting for the November 19th release date here in the UK, praying that Amazon doesn't mess up the order somehow?

Whatever your story, if you don't have a PS5 at the moment, you do have my condolences. If that's not enough for you (and why would it be?), you also have the option of virtually replicating the feeling of bringing home a brand new console thanks to PS5 Simulator, a new free game made to sooth troubled souls.

Developed by Alex Grade (thanks GameSpot), PS5 Simulator mimics the new console experience from opening the box to getting everything set up. You won't be able to play Demon's Souls on it, of course, but this is quite literally better than nothing.

"Wait no more, your ultimate PS5 experience is here," reads the game's official description. "Poor cable management, snacks on floor and try to not break your next-game console in this non-AAA-game!"

The game clocks in at a modest 947MB, and you can download and install it from this link here. Features include "top notch cable management", the ability to "play a PS5 early" (not really though), and "physics almost everywhere". If you want to throw a pretend DualSense controller at a pretend TV, this is the game for you.

If PS5 Simulator is just making the wait for a next-gen console of your own even worse, why not check out our very own review of the PS5? That probably won't help with the wait all that much either, but at least you'll take some small comfort in knowing that it is actually a really good console.

The PlayStation 5 arrives in the UK and Europe on November 19th, and you can find me nervously refreshing my Amazon pre-order between now and then. Good luck out there, my fellow gamers.
