It was inevitable

A new report suggests that Sony is currently working on an enhanced PlayStation 5 Pro model that will offer customers the option of a new-gen console with even more power than the current PS5.

While it's widely assumed that Sony will release a souped-up PS5 at some point, nothing has been officially announced at this stage. With this in mind, please do take everything that follows with the usual pinch of salt! Okay? Okay.

Before we move on, take a look at just how well GTA V runs on PS5 below:

According to new rumours shared by RedGamingTech on YouTube, it sounds like Sony is aiming to release the PS5 Pro in 2024. It's worth noting that the PS4 Pro was released three years into the PS4's lifecycle, so the timeline definitely matches up.

This enhanced model will apparent come with even more impressive specs than the standard PS5, boasting enhanced performance, slicker resolutions, a better experience for PSVR/PSVR 2 titles, and massively improved ray-tracing.

This all matches up with previous reports shared by fellow YouTuber Moore's Law Is Dead Law Is Dead, who claimed last year that the PS5 Pro will most likely release in 2024 for around £600-£700.

Just don't get too excited for the time being. Last we heard, Sony was still struggling to produce enough standard PS5 consoles as a result of the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. It might be a tad optimistic to expect a brand-new line of consoles in the next few years when so many people are struggling to get a a regular launch PS5.
