PlayStation is celebrating Pride Month 2021 with a couple of special freebies for PlayStation 4 users, as well as a handful of specially curated LGBTQIA+ video games.

For the rest of the month, PS4 users will be able to download and keep a specially designed PlayStation Pride 2021 wallpaper theme. Sadly there's no alternative for anyone out there with a PlayStation 5, given the fact that the new-gen console doesn't support custom themes at the moment.

"Our mission is to unite gamers through the power of play, and this year, we'd like to bring our PlayStation community together by showing our colors: Our creative team at SIE has exclusively designed a PlayStation Pride 2021 wallpaper theme for PlayStation 4," Sony explained. "Pride is about celebrating love, equality and the freedom to be your authentic self."

Over on the PlayStation Blog, SIE's director of diversity, equity & inclusion Tiffany Hester spoke about the importance of Pride and Sony's ongoing efforts.

"We want to be a positive force for culture and belonging - not only for our PlayStation community, creators, and partners but also for our employees as we continue to build an equitable and inclusive workplace here at SIE. Even though there is much more work ahead of us, I could not be more proud of our efforts and our global Pride@PlayStation employee network groups, seeing all they've accomplished and the impact they are making."

To access the free theme, you'll need to use one of the special voucher codes below. Just use the one from your corresponding region in the PlayStation Store and claim your theme!

PlayStation has also curated a list of over 50 PS5 and PS4 games that feature LGBTQIA+ "characters, themes, and experiences" on the PlayStation Store. It includes such hits as The Last Of Us Part II, Night In The Woods, Life Is Strange, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The indie space exploration game Outer Wilds is on there too for some reason. Not that I'm complaining, mind you - everybody should play Outer Wilds. You can find the full list of titles here.
