'Demon's Souls' On PS5 Decimated By Speedrunner In Less Than 20 Minutes

It's only been a mere few weeks since the PlayStation 5 made its debut worldwide with many fans picking up the Demon's Souls remake for it. With that said, it did not take long at all for this particular speedrunner to absolutely blitz through and complete it in 20 minutes.

It looks as though speedrunners have discovered a bug in the game that lets them beat it in record time using a setup known as "wrong-warping". What this setup lets speedrunners do is use the archstones, which are a sort of checkpoint in the game, to quickly spawn into the next area. This is done by force quitting to the PS5's menu and then jumping back into the game to be instantly teleported to the next checkpoint. If that quick summary wasn't helpful then don't fret as you can check out the video below which fully explains the method.

Distortion2 is the speedrunner who used this wrong-warp bug in order to complete the game in just under 20 minutes, according to the in-game timer. During his speedrun, Distortion2 managed to skip past some tough enemies, which greatly helped blitz through the game. This bug also made the endgame boss fight a breeze as wrong-warping to it makes the AI fail to properly load in.

While this glitch is still running rampant in the game for speedrunners to exploit, don't expect it to stick along for too long. Since Demon's Souls made its debut with the PS5, Bluepoint Games has been working hard to iron out any of these bugs and glitches that players come across. Recently the developers removed a glitch which gave players near-infinite souls along with a few other glitches. But it's unclear when they will be removing this wrong-warping bug.
