Leaked PlayStation Plus September Freebie Is A Huge Step Up From Last Month

One of the PlayStation Plus free games for September 2021 appears to have leaked online, and it's fair to say it's a huge step up from last month's offerings.

The free games for August on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 were, as I'm sure you remember, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Tennis World Tour 2, and Hunter's Arena: Legends. Not exactly a banner month for the subscription service, and fans were quick to make their displeasure known.

"The last three or four months it's been awful," wrote one disgruntled user. "I don't know what Sony is thinking."

The good news is that it seems redemption is on the horizon for PlayStation Plus, at least according to the latest leak. As spotted on Reddit, it appears a (very small) number of PlayStation Plus subscribers can currently download Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - Remastered for free. A screenshot shared on Twitter (below) even shows the game's in-store thumbnail with the PS Plus icon that denotes whichever game is free for the month.

While this could be a simple mistake or freak glitch (the game wasn't showing up as free when I checked just now), some fans think this is indictive of the remastered Tony Hawk collection coming to PlayStation Plus in September. Another supposed insider also claimed that Tony Hawk's will be joined by The Medium and Haven. The Medium developer Bloober Team, has since said its own survival horror will not be free, but that doesn't rule out pro skateboarding action.

As always, take this with a pinch of salt for now. Sony should be announcing the official PS Plus lineup early next week, so sit tight and hope we're blessed with Tony Hawk.
