Here's your friendly reminder that the latest PlayStation Plus free games are available to download, right now. April's games are officially out, clearing the way for May 2021's freebies.

For those of you that don't really pay much attention to the ever-changing PlayStation Plus lineup, the free games for May were announced just last week. Battlefield V and Stranded Deep, will be available for subscribers on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. If you're one of the seven people with a next-gen console you'll be able to claim a third bonus game in the form of Wreckfest.

Battlefield V and Stranded Deep have proven to be fairly divisive additions to the lineup, but there's plenty to love about both games. DICE and EA's latest entry in the Battlefield might not be the most popular, but it's still a great shooter. Its inclusion here is always a great way to get excited for the expected Battlefield 6 reveal later this month.

Meanwhile, Stranded Deep is an interesting enough survival adventure that puts players in the ocean-soaked shoes of a plane crash survivor tasked with not dying in the middle of nowhere. Definitely worth checking out as long as you're already a subscriber, right?

Finally, we come to Wreckfest. Available to PlayStation 5 owners with a PS Plus subscription, this is the next-gen upgrade of Bugbear's racer, with support for 4K 60fps, improved DualSense features, and a few other surprises.

"Burn rubber, break rules and shred metal in this full-contact racer from the creator of the FlatOut," Sony writes on the PlayStation Blog. "Race and upgrade patched-together cars, improving their looks and toughening up their body armour to survive the epic crashes and neck-to-neck fights over the finish line in competitive races. Enjoy some hilarity in Challenge modes as you get behind the wheel of crop harvesters, three-wheelers and much more, then challenge your friends online in multiplayer up to 24 players."

As always, you have the rest of the month to add these titles to your library, after which you can download them at any time provided you're still a paid-up PS Plus member.
