Pedro Pascal Is A Perfect Joel In These 'The Last Of Us' Scenes

Still on the fence about Pedro Pascal's casting as Joel in HBO's live-action adaptation of The Last Of Us? Well, you're a damn fool... but hopefully these awesome fan-made images will help to change your mind and win you over.

Since we already know that HBO's The Last Of Us will be a fairly straight adaptation of the 2013 PlayStation 3 title of the same name, some of the more creative fans out there have been busy inserting Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie into iconic moments from the original game. I should point out at this stage that it doesn't actually matter at all if Pascal and Ramsey don't look like Joel and Ellie because, well, because they're actors. But if you're really struggling to see Pascal in the role, maybe this will stop you moaning for a while.

As spotted by PushSquare, Reddit user ramykabalan, took it upon themselves to use a face-swapping app to put Pascal's face on Joel's during the scene where Joel is driving Ellie away from the Firefly base. It's not exactly a perfect job, but it certainly gives you an idea of how The Mandalorian actor might look as Joel.

Far more impressive are these gorgeous posters from DeCurt1998 and SPDRMNKYXXIII that reimagine pieces of existing The Last Of Us art with Pascal and Ramsey. As you can see below, both of these efforts are absolutely incredible. I was always fully on board with both pieces of casting, but this knocked my hype up a few dozen notches.

There's no release date for The Last Of Us yet, but this major new casting news implies things are really starting to move along. Hopefully filming can start soon, but with the world the way it is right now, that's more than likely going to be a case of "wait and see". I'll just stare at these pictures in the meantime.
