It looks as if Demon's Souls may be making the jump from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, according to a recently uncovered PlayStation database leak.
The FromSoftware classic was originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2009, before being remade by Bluepoint Games in 2020 as a stunning-looking PS5 launch game. Having seen the remake in action with my own eyes, I never imagined it'd make its way to PS4... not without potentially blowing up the console, anyway.

A PS4 version of Demon's Souls was recently spotted in the PlayStation database according to PlaystationSize - a Twitter account that, as the name suggests, shares file sizes of upcoming PlayStation games and frequently combs the database for potential leaks and other nuggets of info.

"Demon's Souls has a PS4 version in the database," the account confirmed. However, they also stressed that this version could be cancelled, or be nothing more than a "small test version" for developers. Take this with the usual pinch of salt for now, basically.
Demon's Souls wouldn't be the first PS5 game to also be available on PS4. Both Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: The Big Adventure are available across both generations, though a number of concessions had to be made to the PS4 versions in terms of framerate, resolution, and load times. Horizon Forbidden West and the sequel to God Of War will also be cross-gen releases, with the souped-up versions living their best life on PS5. Expect Demon's Souls on PS4 to get a similar treatment, if it ends up becoming official.
