PlayStation Owners Can Grab An Extra Freebie Right Now, No PS Plus Needed

We've got some great news if you're one of the few dozen people on the planet who currently has a PlayStation 5: Apple and Sony have teamed up as part of a new promotion designed to sort you - the aforementioned PS5 owner - out with six months of free Apple TV Plus.

Whether you've never subscribed to the streaming service before or are currently a paid-up member, you can net yourself this free six months. All you need to do is download and open the Apple TV Plus app up on the PS5, sign in with your Apple ID, and enjoy. After six months you'll be automatically charged the normal rate, so do remember to keep an eye on your subscription management if you don't want to accidentally give Apple your money.

Take a look at a bit of what Apple TV Plus has to offer below:

What's actually on Apple TV Plus, though? Granted, you might not immediately think of it as having as many hit shows as Disney Plus or Netflix, but there's some proper quality shows to be seen on Apple's streaming service.

If you've yet to check it out, there are two seasons of video game development sitcom Mythic Quest just waiting to be binged. There are also a ton of exclusive and original movies, including a wonderful documentary about Billie Eilish, and Tom Holland's bizarre crime thrilled Cherry.

But the most important reason I would ask the PS5 owners out there not to sleep on this free subscription is so that they can watch the beautifully written and delightfully warm football comedy series Ted Lasso. Created by Scrubs showrunner Bill Lawrence and Jason Sudeikis, the show's first season swept up a ton of awards and near-universal acclaim. Now you can see what all the fuss is about for the low, low price of nothing.

Oh, and the second season kicks off today (July 23). Coincidence? I would imagine not. I beg you: do not miss out on Ted Lasso. If I could get every single person on the planet to watch one show in 2021, I truly believe this would be it.
