Everyone start planning your snacks and drinks because PlayStation has announced a new showcase highlighting games from PlayStation Studios themselves. Ever since E3 earlier this year, there has been a question of what might be coming to Sony's platform next as it's churned out some of its new-gen titles already.
We've loved Returnal, Miles Morales, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - the first wave of exclusives have been great. They've been wonderful but we're always going to be looking to the future. We, of course, know that Horizon Forbidden West is coming in 2022 but we've seen some gameplay of that already. Fans of God of War are waiting for even a wiff of confirmation of the sequel's title, so perhaps this showcase will finally confirm it. Otherwise, we're still waiting to see and hear more about what the PlayStation studios are up to, and what we can obsess over in the coming months and years.
So when is this showcase then? And what has Sony said about it so far? Well, Sony will be revealing all on Thursday, September 9 2021, 1 PM PDT / 9 PM BST so be ready for then.

In the blog post that Sony published with the announcement, it says: "You've been awfully patient, and we thank you for that. And now we're looking forward to showing you what we've been working on.
"Tune in next Thursday, September 9 at 1:00pm Pacific Time / 9:00pm BST / 10:00pm CEST for a look into the future of PS5. The showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry's most imaginative developers, for games releasing this holiday and beyond. And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase.
"One thing to note: PlayStation's next generation of VR won't make an appearance this time. But there will still be plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small. We hope you can join us!"
So no VR but I think we're all pretty okay with that right? I mean I'm not complaining if it means we get to find out what "the future of PS5" looks like. You'll be able to tune into the show on both YouTube and Twitch that day.
