PlayStation Plus Collection Free Games Can Be Played On PS4 Thanks To This Workaround

This will only work for PlayStation Plus members, mind.

The PlayStation 5's PlayStation Plus Collection is pretty stacked with twenty exciting titles, and thanks to this little trick, you'll be able to play them on your PlayStation 4 as well as your PlayStation 5.

The PlayStation Plus Collection is a specific add-on for PS Plus members who own a PlayStation 5, and brings a range of backwards-compatible games in a range of genres as a free download. Well, it's not entirely free, as PS Plus costs £49.99 for a twelve-month membership, but you do get a bang for your buck. Members receive two free games every month, and they're not to be sniffed at: Vampyr and Need For Speed Payback were on offer in October. It also allows players to play online, which was a double decker bonus when Fall Guys was included in PS Plus earlier this year.

Furthermore, members enjoy exclusive PlayStation Store discounts, a maximum of 100GB of online storage, cloud saves, as well as exclusive DLC and content packs for popular titles. Evidently, there are a lot of reasons to hop on the PS Plus bus, and one more has just been brought to light. The PlayStation Plus Collection is technically a bonus for those with a PlayStation 5, but a tiny workaround makes them playable on the PlayStation 4, too. The instructions are as follows.

Go onto the PlayStation Store through the PlayStation 5, then select the PlayStation Plus Collection option. Redeem the games in the list that you'd like to play or add to your own library. Ergo, these games are present on your PlayStation 5 library... and your PlayStation 4 library, seeing as they use the same profile. The games are: Batman: Arkham Knight, Battlefield 1, Bloodborne, Call of Duty Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Days Gone, Detroit: Become Human, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV, God of War, inFAMOUS: Second Son, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, Monster Hunter: World, Mortal Kombat X, Persona 5, Ratchet & Clank, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and Until Dawn.

I spy some heavy hitters in that there collection, and it's an awesome way to scoop up those you've missed over the course of the PlayStation 4's life cycle. What about finally psyching yourself up for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, so that the gore and grime is still fresh in your mind when Resident Evil Village launches in 2021? What about finally having a stab at Bloodborne, and another stab, and another stab, and gosh, this game is very hard, isn't it? You catch my drift, in any event.
