Virtual reality is in some ways the next step for gaming. This information apparently comes from "someone with knowledge on the matter" so we'll just have to hope that they're correct. Though a Sony and a Samsung representative declined to comment on the matter, once released it will apparently feature Samsung Display Co. OLED panels.

The original PSVR sold pretty well as an accessory to the PS4 and PS4 Pro, Bloomberg says that it sold five million units after its launch. The original report says that even the most popular VR headsets often struggle to exceed a few million sales - we wonder how many players will be interested in a new headset in 2022 with the continued shortage of consoles.

With this new generation of VR headsets, companies are looking to innovate on design and purpose. Facebook has just announced that it's looking to incorporate adverts into games you're playing while in VR. The social media company says that it's ultimately a way to make the platform and developments more sustainable. The company continues to look into "unobtrusive ads" too, so perhaps by the time the PSVR2 hits shelves next year, there will be adverts inside the games we're playing.
