Multiple PlayStation users have reported that the PlayStation Store is currently listing certain games for the incredible price of £10,000. Interestingly, the pricing glitch seems to be predominately affecting GreedFall, one of the free games in the January PlayStation Plus lineup.
Twitter user Andreas K (via IGN) first reported the issue. As you can see below, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is available to download for free as part of the PlayStation Plus service, as it's supposed to be. It's fellow freebie Greedfall, on the other hand, came with a markedly different price tag.
@AskPlayStation yo @AskPS_UK do you reckon this is a good price... #Greedfall £10,000.00 for PS Plus members? Assetto Corsa for £6.24? Are these your monthly PS Plus games? #Playstation #Sony #psplus #AssettoCorsaCompetizione @eurogamer @IGNUK pic.twitter.com/U5E2JZUjZ4- Andreas K. (@CollateralWill) January 5, 2021
It's not entirely clear what caused this issue, but it seems to have specifically affected PlayStation 4 consoles rather than PlayStation 5 units or the web browser version of the PlayStation Store.
The good news is that it doesn't seem as if Sony is actually trying to trick PS Plus users into spending £10,000 on what's supposed to be a free game. For one thing, that would be ridiculous. For another, this glitch has affected a number of other games over the past few months - games like Dead Cells and Friday The 13th that weren't ever tied to the PlayStation Plus service.
