One of the best Xbox One exclusives is making its way to PlayStation 4 as a completely free update. Developer Enhance Games has confirmed that the stunning multiplayer expansion Tetris Effect: Connected is making the jump from Microsoft to Sony next month, complete with PSVR support.

The original Tetris Effect was released on PlayStation 4 and PSVR in 2018, and was widely regarded as one of the best games of the year and a fascinating twist on the decades-old puzzle game. Tetris Effect: Connected was released as an Xbox exclusive last year, bringing with it heaps of new content and competitive online and local multiplayer modes. PlayStation fans without an Xbox have had to sit and jealously eye up this definitive version of the game - until now.

Take a look at Tetris Effect: Connected in action below:

The update will be completely free for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners who already have a copy of the original Tetris Effect, which means a ton of new multiplayer modes for the low, low cost of nothing at all. The headline act is the titular Connected, which joins you up with other players to fight against an AI controlled boss (or occasionally a real-world opponent).

You can also look forward to Zone Battle, Score Attack, and Classic Score Attack. Basically, if you thought Tetris Effect was already hard to put down, it's about to get a lot harder.

This update will also usher in full crossplay, which means you can play with friends on all platforms. We love to see it. Sony has confirmed a beta will be available for all existing owners of the game from June 23 to July 5, so maybe now is a good time to take the plunge and pick up Tetris Effect if you don't already own it. I promise you won't regret it.
