Pokémon Fans Have Spotted A Curious Similarity In Newly Announced Games

If you think of Nintendo's recent successful games there are a few titles that might come to mind. Everyone loved Super Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons of course - but if you're thinking of the game that is now widely considered one of the best open-world experiences of all time, you've got to go with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Breath of the Wild is beautiful, to put it simply. From the amazing characters you meet to the epic battles you can pursue, to the fact that you really can finish the tutorial and head to the final boss battle straight away if you feel like it, makes the game nothing short of a masterpiece. This might be why fans have noticed a similarity between the announcement for Breath of the Wild and the upcoming Pokémon game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

There were two big announcements at the recent Pokémon Direct, one was the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remake that's on the way and the other is Pokémon Legends Arceus - an open-world adventure that looks a lot like Pokémon: Breath of the Wild. Sprawling green landscapes, with lush flora and Pokémon fauna, is exactly what fans wanted. And yet everyone is still in a little bit of disbelief that it's actually happening.

Anywhere you look, you can see that fans are calling Pokémon Legends Arceus, Pokémon Breath of the Wild, including on Reddit. IanMazgelis posts on the Pokémon subreddit that they can't "believe they're really doing it... I went in with my expectation at the absolute floor but we might get a really good game here and I wasn't prepared for that". And others agree, fans are going wild for this new take on a Pokémon game.
