Although Twitch is a fantastic place for connecting with new audiences and content - there are those that abuse a direct line to content creators in weird ways. For Imane 'Pokimane' Anys a lot of the time the users her mods have to ban all sorts of terrible messages directed at the streamer. No matter the size you are on Twitch, you're going to get trolls but for Pokimane as one of the biggest female streamers out there, there is just another level of trolling her channel gets.
In a new video released on YouTube (spotted by Dexerto), the streamer goes through a bunch of unban requests to give people a sort of idea of what she's receiving on a regular basis. Although Iman is laughing and happily making content out of what is pretty gross behaviour from others - it also shines a light on just how weird people on the internet are when no one knows who they really are.
During the video, which is an edited highlight reel of her stream, she goes through unban requests. After people cross a line on Twitch, and moderators ban them, there is an option to request to get unbanned. You can send a message explaining if you think the ban was uncalled for - or alternatively, you can continue to just be a troll in the unban request too as we see with Pokimane's comments.

Many messages comment on her physical appearance in a grotesque way while others comment on her gaming ability or just say disgusting things generally. It's an onslaught of people throwing comments into her chat just trying to elicit a reaction from her, or even trying to find ways to say slurs. It really highlights how bad the toxicity issue on Twitch is no matter who you are on the platform.
There are a few take aways from a video like this. The first is that Pokimane has a great mod team who do a pretty good job at filtering out all the gross actions people send her. Secondly, it shows people who might be unaware of the severity of the harassment female streamers get on the platform and thirdly, Pokimane is smart to make this into content. It both highlights a problem and pays her to endure it.
