PornHub has shared its own data on searches made on the site throughout the US Election Week 2020, and the results show a specific preference for video games. Yeah.

The health benefits of playing video games have been recorded and reiterated time and time again. One analysis of a number of similar studies found that the spatial skills improvements of people who play video games is comparable to the improvements seen in high school and university-level courses that focus on the same spatial skills. And, presumably, it's a lot cheaper (and more enjoyable) than shelling out for an academic course. In addition, people who play shooters are able to identify patterns quicker than those who don't play video games at all. And, video games are able to react to modify the difficulty of puzzles for the player, in order to challenge them but also to encourage them to continue pushing their abilities. Not many other forms of media achieve this, making it an awesome teaching tool in the classroom.

Now, PornHub has shown us that there are... other health benefits to video games. Its map of the United States has the most popular search term for that specific state when compared to every other state stamped across its geographical outline, and the results have been... illuminating. While President Donald Trump and President-elect Joe Biden battled for votes in two of the most divisive campaigns in history, Arkansas searched for "furry" pornography. Indiana was looking for "goth" porn, Georgia wanted "tickling," and Hawaii appeared to have mistook PornHub for Google Maps, searching "808," which is its area code.

Ohio, Tennessee, and South Carolina were on the same wavelength for some reason, with their most popular searches for "cougar," "Granny," and "Grandma," respectively. However, there are two places that know exactly what they want, and what they want is an exact thing. PornHub users in Kentucky searched for "Among Us" more than any other state in the entire country, and users in New Mexico sought out "Fortnite" themed content. Firstly, the fact that the murder mystery game for mobiles has appeared on the website isn't so surprising. In September, PornHub recorded almost five million searches for Among Us, showing that the game's immense popularity is truly multilayered.

Now, "Fortnite" surprised me, but there are a lot of "characters" in the game owing to the huge number of skins for players. Someone's bound to want to see them have their way with each other, and it's amazing what you can do with computers nowadays. It seems that the stress of Election Week 2020 really took its toll on those in Mississippi, too, as their top search term was "pron."
