'Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time' Remake First Look Leaks Online

It was only a matter of time.

We almost made it to tonight's Ubisoft Forward presentation with a genuine surprise intact, but the long-rumoured Prince Of Persia remake has just leaked in a big way. Who could've seen this coming? All of us, probably, based on the incredibly leaky summer Ubisoft has had.

Thanks to Russian Uplay, leaked images confirm what we'd all hoped: the upcoming remake is indeed going to be an overhaul of 2003's classic Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time. As spotted by ResetEra user AndrewDTF, the new images aren't exactly the best quality, and clearly not the way Ubisoft wanted to debut the Prince's first appearance in nearly a decade to the world.

Still, if you can look past the low-quality images, I think it's looking pretty snazzy. But then again, I absolutely adore Sands Of Time... so there may be a slight internal fanboy bias at work here.

It's a genuine shame this leaked so close to the finish line, but the existence of a Prince Of Persia remake has been strongly hinted at for months now. Earlier this summer, a listing for "Prince Of Persia Remake" was spotted online for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Twitter user Ken Xyro managed to nab screenshots of the two separate listings that appeared on Guatemalan retailer Max, which pointed to a November 2020 release date for the game.

A couple of months before that, Ubisoft registered a domain for something called princeofpersia6.com at the same time as it registered a domain for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Obviously a Sands Of Time remake isn't technically the Prince Of Persia 6 fans of the franchise might have been hoping for, but maybe this will mark the start of real revival for the Prince. We'll have to wait and see.

No doubt Ubisoft will have a full trailer to share with us at the Ubisoft Forward event, which you can tune into from 8pm BST tonight.
