Death Stranding Director's Cut released earlier this year, adding a number of new features to the PlayStation 5 experience of the game. It also managed to sneak in a nod to P.T., the ill fated horror from Konami, and it is gnarly.

Hideo Kojima doesn't actually agree with the title of "Director's Cut," and would prefer a different phrase to describe the newest version of the weird walking simulator. "In the game, it is not what was cut, but what was additionally produced that was included. Delector's Plus?" he said at the time.

Sure. So the Delector's Plus version gets you a quality mode and performance mode for its visuals, an ultrawide aspect ratio, 3D audio and haptic feedback in the DualSense to reproduce different terrain under Sam's boots. Plus, if you already own the PlayStation 4 version, it's just $10 to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. Not too high a price to be terrified out of your wits again with a reference to P.T.

While the majority of Death Stranding involves Sam trudging from point to point, completing deliveries for post-apocalyptic settlements across America, our hero does have some down time in the Private Room. As shown in this clip from Reddit user DoubleTimeRusty, things have started to get spooky in the shower:

Waking up, Sam sits in the darkness and he sees a silhouette in the shower. If the player chooses to investigate, Sam creeps towards the figure silently. Their head starts to spasm and the body jitters like it's trying to get out. Silence. Then, the creature leaps from the shower, coated in jet black oil, seizing the protagonist by the shoulders to scream in his face.

Sam wakes up. For real this time. Man, you've got to stop eating cheese before bed. So fans are sure that this is one of the ghosts from the house in P.T. who's at long last caught up with Norman Reedus.

This isn't the only bizarre event that's been added to the game in the Delector's Plus. In another scene, the door to the Private Room opens unexpectedly and strange noises like whale songs are heard. Approaching the entryway, he then spots a crab scuttling upside down and stares into the pitch darkness, before a sea creature snaps him up. Come on Kojima, just make another horror game. We know you want to.
