'Rainbow Six Siege' Is Getting A Resident Evil Event

To celebrate six years of Siege.

Ubisoft and Capcom are coming together to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Rainbow Six Siege with a bundle of cosmetics lifted out of Resident Evil, and we've got S.T.A.R.S. in our eyes.

Announced yesterday, Ubisoft is planning to paint the town red for Siege's sixth anniversary, and there's lots for the players to look forward to. First and foremost, the new operator Flores is an Argentinian attacker with an RCE-Ratero Charge, which is able to start matches off with a serious bang. Crimson Heist rolls out on March 30th, bringing a new secondary weapon which will pick apart the Season 5 meta, seasonal weapon skins, Border map reworks, and a host of improvements and balance tweaks as per.

Zofia, also known as The Bosak Anchor, gets a spiffy Jill Valentine skin as part of the party. Sporting the character's S.T.A.R.S. uniform from the first entry in the series, Zofia doesn't look too out of place with her new fit, and I'm positive this will be a super popular choice when the skin is released. Furthermore, art director Alex Karpazis mentioned that there's one more Resident Evil crossover in the works, though the companies are keeping their cards close to their chest. Fingers crossed for a Ramon Salazar skin for Sledge.

There are another two partnerships in the pipeline, one with Adult Swim and one with the artist behind The Evil Within. Surprisingly, it looks like Rick And Morty will be on their way to Rainbow Six Siege... in some shape or form. "We just wanted to tease this right now and we'll have more information later in the year," said Karpazis. What this might entail is anyone's guess, but I would bet it's a new gadget that is inspired by the ones that Rick creates in the show. To prevent it from totally overloading the game, there could be a limited-time mode for the gadget, like the Halloween events that are always praised by the community.

Ikumi Nakamura's skins in Rainbow Six Siege /

Speaking of spookiness, Ikumi Nakamura's skins for Siege have got tongues wagging. Dokkaebei, Echo and Hibana are the lucky trio to get their skins revealed early, and there are five more Operators receiving new threads from the horror queen herself. Echo's tape or fabric wrapped around his face, wrists, and calves is reminiscent of an evil spirit looming from the other side, bound only by its connection to the living. Personally, I'm loving Dokkaebei's sparkly deep blue tears, rivulets of ink spilling from the corner of her eye and streaking down her cheeks, matching the bright blue of her outfit. These will become available on March 2nd, but the remainder will launch in the future.
