'Resident Evil Village' Will Be The Best Survival Horror Game To Date, Says Producer

That's a tall order - not as tall as the vampire lady though

It must be a little baffling for the creators of Resident Evil Village. Create this terrifying world, with a scary demo that has people hooked, and even with all that work, gamers are just talking about the tall vampire lady they're attracted to. Well even with all the discourse surrounding the lovely Lady Dimitrescu the team are standing by their promise to deliver one of the best horror games we've seen.

According to Official PlayStation Magazine (via wccftech) Capcom producer Peter Fabiano and the team are really delighted with the way the game is going at the moment, so far as to say the team believe it's is the "best survival horror game to date". Now that's a lofty claim.

Speaking to OPM, the producer says, "Concepting and planning was something going through our developers' minds since towards the end of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. The team grew quite attached to Ethan as a character so we knew we wanted to continue his story arc. We wanted to continue to have players experience the game through the eyes of protagonist Ethan Winters. This is a continuation of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard after all. This really helped to keep our vision on target. And since we are constantly sharing information across Resident Evil teams, that really helped inform us in making what we consider the best survival horror game to date."

The team is still working on Village but we already know some of the details about the game. Winters is back in trouble after the events of Biohazard but this time it isn't just one family of monsters he encounters, it's a few. The 'vampiric' Dimitrescu and her daughters are just a few of the personalities we'll encounter along with our feud against longtime Resident Evil character Chris Redfield.

The demo for Village, Maiden was well received despite it being short and sweet. I saw sweet but I mean horrifying. If Village is really as good as Capcom thinks it is, a horror classic might just be around the corner on May 7 2021.
