Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has shared its latest financial earnings report, and it could contain some clues as to what releases the publisher has planned over the next few years... including a remake of Red Dead Redemption.

As with most financial reports, the vast majority of it is filled with kind of business heavy language that's enough to put most of us to sleep. A little rummage through the facts and figures does turn up some interesting hints, however. Aside from bigging itself up for another incredibly strong year thanks to a mix of 2K Sports titles and the incredible ongoing success of Grand Theft Auto V, we learned that the company plans to publish a total of 62 new titles by the end of fiscal year 2024.

Take a look at the best wins and fails from Red Dead Redemption 2 below!

So where, exactly, does Red Dead Redemption fit into all of this? Part of Take-Two's report seems to indicate the company has plans to release a set number of "new iterations of previously released titles," the implication here being more enhanced ports and remakes like the upcoming GTA V on next-gen consoles.

The company aims to release six of these titles in the fiscal year 2022, and another three before the end of fiscal year 2024. Take-Two has a vast library of established IPs and hit games, but the original Red Dead Redemption is a likely candidate for a next-gen overhaul.

For one thing, this isn't the first time we've heard rumblings of a Red Dead Redemption remake. Almost immediately after Red Dead Redemption 2 launched, speculation began that Rockstar was planning a remake of John Marston's adventure using the latest game's engine, and that it would include update dialogue to include references to Arthur Morgan and the events of Red Dead Redemption 2.

While this could easily have been nothing more than wishful thinking, a mysteriously deleted post on Reddit earlier this year made the claim that a Red Dead Redemption remake would be released before GTA VI. Other industry insiders and alaysed have agreed this is likely, but aren't willing to say with 100% certainty whether or not it will come to pass.

Take this with the usual pinch of salt for now, of course. Take-Two previously hinted that it could be embracing more remakes in response to rumours that GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas are dropping as part of a new remastered collection. Such a compilation followed swiftly by a remake of Red Dead Redemption - one of the most-loved games of all time with a graphical overhaul - would be a license to print money. Watch this space.
