The New ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’ Trailer Is Very Gory

Netflix has just released a brand-new trailer for its original animated series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness - based on, as should be obvious, Capcom's long-running survival-horror franchise, Resident Evil.

In the two-and-a-half-minute trailer, we get to see series stalwarts Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield battle both against mutated monsters (though, is it just me or is the rat kinda cute?) and government bureaucracy. You truly love to see it - and you can, when the series launches on July 8, 2021.

The show is set in 2006, in the aftermath of White House hacking revelations. When the White House is then attacked, things take a turn for the spooky and decidedly undead, as zombies begin to appear. I mean, did you expect them not to? Leon and Claire join forces to uncover the root of this breakout of beasts, and there will no doubt be plenty of Resident Evil series easter eggs for fans to spy, along the way. And if the trailer is anything to go on, there might be a few more familiar characters, too.

In related Resident Evil news, it can't have escaped your attention that the eighth main title in the series, Resident Evil Village, was released recently. We've a lot of content of the game, live on the site right now - suffice to say, we really quite like the game. Check out our review, and if you've played it for yourself, do have a read of our slightly-spoilery pieces on its scariest sequence and how it shows we really don't need a remake of (the Leon-starring) Resident Evil 4.
