This Resident Evil remake knocked our socks off when we saw it in action earlier this month, and now a third-person camera mod has injected a thrilling dose of Resident Evil 4 into an already astonishing project.

Working with Unreal Engine 4, developer MoonGlint has poured their heart and soul into this remake, recreating the oppressive and choking atmosphere of the Spencer Mansion in a never-before-seen fidelity. Interestingly, the project opted for a first-person perspective like the more modern Biohazard and Village. Biohazard was considered to be too scary for even the most stalwart of Resi players which is why Village shifted into the genre of action horror, prompting a lot of comparisons to Leon Kennedy's mission to rescue the President's daughter in Europe.

So, the third person camera mod for this reimagining of Resident Evil is ticking a lot of boxes for us. The clip is short, yet sweet. It's like a shotgun marriage between the classic scares and tricks of the earlier games and the revulsion and fear that realistic visuals trigger in players. Plus, if MoonGlint feels like there is enough interest in their efforts, they will release a playable build of the remake to the public.

Check out how the survival horror series has evolved over 25 years, twisting and transforming into the behemoth we see today.

In the ending of Village, it is evident that the next entry in Resident Evil has some questions to answer. Spoilers for Resident Evil Village follow, and if you've not gotten round to playing one of our top rated games of the year thus far, then hop to it.

Ethan and Mia's daughter Rose is all grown up and the extent of her abilities hasn't been shown yet. She seems to be in the custody of the BSAA, and when her handler antagonises her by referring to her as "Eveline," she snaps at him and says that she possesses "powers that even Chris isn't aware of." Having been crystallised, split into four, then revived again, Rose may share that same level of regenerative abilities like her father did. Furthermore, even when she was a baby, she was able to resist Miranda's attempts to insert her dead daughter's consciousness into her body and poisoned Miranda by weaponising her connection to the Mold.

To me, that sounds like one heck of a playable protagonist and rounds out a possible trilogy. Of course, DLC for Village is on its way, so we might get a better picture of what's to come in those subsequent add-ons.
