Maus died on Sunday, January 24 of complications from colon cancer after living with disease for eight months. She also had Crohn's disease and was diagnosed with COVID-19 shortly before her death. This is according to the GoFundMe page that was set up in an attempt to help her with her numerous medical bills. She's survived by her fiancé, Dusty Warren. Capcom confirmed the news of her passing late last night.

Raised in the American northwest and an alumni of the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Maus enjoyed a successful career as an actor, appearing in the likes of Charm City Kings and a string of well-received short films. She shared her talents with others as acting coach and writer, co-writing the 2008 My Effortless Brilliance. She also had a number of multiple projects still in post-production, including a TV movie called Casting Call and a couple of TV series.

The John Rosenfeld Studios school for young actors, where Maus taught, released a statement remembering her contribution to the school. "Jeanette was truly an artist and felt truly grateful to live as an artist," they wrote. "She had an indomitable spirit and was hungry to be the best person, the best teacher, the best friend and the best actor she could be. The world lost a force of nature, and we will be feeling that for a long time."

Our thoughts go out to Maus' family at this difficult time.
