Crikey. What a sentence that was to type. To advertise the second demo of Resident Evil Village, which was available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 over the weekend, the company invited players to post their thoughts about the game onto Twitter. Then, if they retweeted the campaign tweet, they were entered into a sweepstakes to win one of the three towels that were made for the competition. Furthermore, 100 entrants will win a Resident Evil Village file (the thing you store papers inside, not for your nails) through a lottery system. Recently, we got to grips with the upcoming game in a preview, and we cannot wait to learn more about this curious village. Listen to us chat about the characters, the combat and the world in our video here.
Lady Dimitrescu, the matriarch of a vampire clan who reside in the castle that looms over the village, has charmed fans despite the fact that she is a Resident Evil character, and will likely transform into a revolting mass of viscera and teeth by the end of the game. She's got style, you cannot deny that, with her beautiful white gown and statement hat that shades her from the light. She's related to Mother Miranda, though her connection between the imposing idol of the village has not been revealed. Lady Dimitrescu also wears a heel that is double the size of the average women's shoe size. Yes, since her announcement, the adoration for this giant lady (that will absolutely murder you the second she sees you) has poured in from the Internet, and Capcom is continuing to capitalise on the thirst.
The Lady Dimitrescu towels are literally life-sized, meaning that they are the same height as the character, which calculates to be three metres. Imagine someone is staying overnight at yours, the pandemic a thing of the past, and they ask to use a towel for a bath. Sure, you say, reaching into the cupboard and handing them this... creation. On the other hand, you pull back the shower curtain, step out onto the mat and you're eye-to-eye with Lady Dimitrescu. You'd have the fright of your life. Well, if you're wanting one, they're only shipping within Japan, though there's nothing stopping you from picking up a needle and thread and making your own. Resident Evil Village comes to PC and consoles on May 7th.
